Jurassic World by Brickman

The other week, we went to check out the Jurassic World exhibit by Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught at the recently opened Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There were quite a few displays and structures that captured the feel of the franchise. The entranceway itself, which I didn’t realise until after going through it, was made of lego. I think it was meant to evoke the same feeling as the initial movie, and it certainly works.

They even had a mini Lego insect set in amber! (I don’t think it’s actual amber).

This was a perfect situation to go with the Panasonic 9mm lens - it was wide enough to include a lot of a scene while being in close quarters.

But the Panasonic 9mm also focuses closely that it still gets some good background blur. The photo of the ‘amber insect’ further up above is another example of the close focusing distance of the Panasonic 9mm.

There was a display where people can create sections that help build the full picture. The lady below is inserting the panel that our friend made.

They had a section where people can put on display the creations they made.

Also I didn’t notice until later that the lights themselves were modeled after Lego.

All in all it was some good afternoon fun with the crew.
