The heat is on in Saigon

Late last year one of my friends put out an invite to see Miss Saigon. I hadn’t been on a holiday for a while so I decided to take a few days off and fly down to Christchurch. I had a lovely time at the show, and of course enjoyed a lot of great food!

It was also a good opportunity to for some shutter therapy while I walked around on my own. Quite a bit of time was spent at the botanic gardens, even if some shots seem clichéd…

My fondness for architecture was not left wanting as there were still some beautiful buildings that remained after the earthquakes.

Of course, reminders of the tragic destruction linger, but people are making the best of it and carrying on.

Not exactly sure what it’s going to look like, but they were in the middle of erecting an art piece when I walked past. Not sure if it actually made the news either.

And then I had some tasty ice cream from this cute little place. The proprietors basically decorated their front porch, with the ice cream truck/trailer off to the side.

A very nice, short holiday that ended far too soon!
