Pasifika Festival ‘23

A couple of weeks ago my friend and I checked out the Pasifika festival. It was a very colourful (and very busy) time! I didn’t get a chance to take a lot of photos as we were occupied in a long queue for food, or I had my hands full with many of the delicious mango drinks on offer. But I did get a handful to document the occassion.

Earlier in the morning though, there was a wee dragonboating event on in the waterfront while we were on the way to Pasifika.

We took a few photos but since I didn’t know the event was on, the longest lens I brought was the Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8. I didn’t have many closer shots until we stood over the footbridge where the boats passed through underneath.

Had I known then I might have brought the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8, but then I would have been carrying around quite a bulky set-up during Pasifika. So in hindsight it was good that I went with a more compact loadout.

There were a few other people taking advantage of the stunning conditions out in the water as well - some were paddle boarding, while some went the more luxurious route out from the shore.

It was such a sunny day though that I had sunburn after only a couple of hours outside! But after a bellyful of good grub at Pasifika it was definitely a nice day out.
